We’re back at the Marsh Post this week for some miles along the Charles!  We also have a great speaker, Dr. Justine Paula from Wellness In Motion, who is going to talk to us about how to prevent injuries from de-railing your training season.  See you bright and early on Saturday!

Next Meeting (Week 6): Saturday June 15th at 7:00am at Train Boston

This week we’re meeting at another new location, Train Boston at 34 Washington Street in Wellesley, where we’ll hear from one of their personal trainers on how strength training can help us run stronger and with fewer injuries!  This week also brings a new, earlier meeting time so that we can try to beat the heat (summer is nearly here!).  See you there!

This week we’re meeting at a NEW location, Jackrabbit (running store) at 1728 Mass Ave in Lexington!  Since they have been kind enough to open early for us, we’ll meet just a little later than usual at 8:00am.  Bring your running gear shopping list too, since we’ll be getting a store discount to shop after the run!  See you there!

Memorial Day Weekend – No Official Meeting

No official meeting this weekend due to the holiday, but if you are staying local and would like to get together with other BostonFitters for your long run, check the Facebook group and/or email your coaches to find out if anyone is planning an informal run!

2019 Season Kick-off: Saturday May 11th at 7:30am at Marsh Post

Hello runners!

We are very excited to kick off our 2019 season on Saturday, May 11th, at 7:30AM.  We will meet at the American Legion “Marsh Post” at 5 Greenough Blvd, Cambridge.  Public parking is available across the street in the parking lot next to Buckingham Browne & Nichols school.  We will have an orientation and then do our first group run!  Come join us!

Final Meeting of 2018: Sunday, October 28th at 7:30AM at the Marsh Post

Our last meeting of the 2018 season will be this Sunday, October 28th, at 7:30AM at the Marsh Post. No seminar. Full marathoners will run 8 miles and halfers have their race weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Post! WE HAVE CHANGED THE DAY FROM SATURDAY TO SUNDAY DUE TO THE SATURDAY STORM FORECAST!!

Our next meeting will be on Saturday, October 13th, at 7AM at Thorndike Field in Arlington. No seminar. We will go over some house-keeping matters, activate, and break into our color groups for a 21 miler for full marathoners and 12 miles for halfers! Our longest training run of the season!

Our next meeting will be this Saturday, September 29th, at 6:30AM at Cleveland Circle. Google “Cassidy Playground” in Newton (Chestnut Hill) near Cityside and look for the parking lots. No seminar. We will break into our color groups and full marathoners will run 18 miles (woohoo!) and halfers will run 12. Thank your waterstop volunteers! Check your coach’s email for the route. Our next BostonFit meeting will be this Saturday, September 22nd at 6:30AM back at the Marsh Post. We will hear a seminar by the coaches on tapering and then split into our color groups for 12 miles for our full marathoners and 8 miles for our halfers. Don’t be late! We have one more meeting at 6:30AM after this and then switch to a later time for October meetings.

We are very excited to have with us this week Becca Pizzi. She will speak about mental toughness for the endurance runner. We will meet at 6:30AM this Saturday, Septmber 15th, at the Woodlands T stop. Look for your coach’s email with exact location and details. After the seminar, we will split into our color groups and full marathoners will run 11 miles and halfers will run 7 miles. Don’t be late!

Special Meeting on Aug. 22 and Next Meeting on Aug. 25

We will have a special meeting on Wednesday, August 22nd, at 6:30PM at the Cambridge Public Library, located at 449 Broadway, Cambridge. We will be meeting in the Community Room and hearing an in-depth seminar on nutrition for endurance runners by world expert dietician, Nancy Clark. Please come with your questions!

We will have our next regular meeting on Saturday, August 25th, at 6:30AM at Thorndike Field (look for your coach’s email). No seminar. Full marathoners will run 16 miles and halfers will run 10 miles. Don’t be late!

Our next meeting will be this Saturday, August 18th at 6:30AM at Franklin Park. 1 Circuit Drive, Dorchester, MA. We will be running the JP hills this Saturday! We will hear a short seminar on long run recovery techniques and then split into our color groups – full marathoners will run 12 miles and halfers will run 7 miles. Bring a change of clothes because it may rain during our run!

We are practicing our racing strategies this weekend! BostonFit is encouraging full marathoners to sign up for the Triple Threat Half Marathon (https://yukanrun.webconnex.com/2018TripleThreat) on Sunday, August 5th, and the half marathoners to run the Salem (https://racewire.com/register.php?id=9196). Contact your coach for more details about the race or about doing an unofficial run with other BFitters this weekend. See you back at the Post on August 11th.

Come with your questions about your own running experiences and injuries! After the seminar, we will split into our color groups and full marathoners will run 14 miles and halfers will run 8 miles. Our next meeting will be this Saturday, June 23rd, at 7AM at the Battle Road Trail. Look for your coach’s email for directions on the exact meeting spot in Lexington and the route. We will discuss the benefits of foam rolling and how to do it effectively, then split into our color groups with the full marathoners running 10 miles and the halfers running 6 miles. Our next meeting will be this Saturday, June 2nd, at 8AM, at the JackRabbit store located at 1728 Mass Ave., in Lexington. We will meet with the store manager to talk about proper shoe selection and fit, and then break into our color groups to run 7 miles for full marathoners and 5 miles for half marathoners on the Minuteman Bike Path. Bring your credit/debit card! JackRabbit will offer a 15% discount off all store inventory including shoes for that day only.
