Final Meeting of the Season! Saturday October 26th at 7:30am at Marsh Post

We’ll end our season back where we started it, at the Marsh Post for one last spin around the river with our teammates.  A few of you are still in training, and those of you who have completed your goal races can join us for a final victory lap!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 24): Saturday October 19th at 7:30am at Castle Island

We’re avoiding the craziness of the river on this Head of the Charles weekend, and heading to our favorite ocean-side location at Castle Island for our second-to-last run of the season.  We gain ANOTHER half hour of sleep too, with our 7:30am start time!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 23): Saturday October 12th at 7:00am at Marsh Post

We’re back at the Post this week, and back to shorter mileage after last week’s supported long run.  Unlike the last time we met at the Post, we will be starting at 7:00am this Saturday (got to love that later alarm time)!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 22): Saturday October 5th at 7:00am at Thorndike Field

Welcome to October and the end of 6:30am start times!  We’ll head to the Minuteman bike path this weekend for our third and final supported long run.  Late Race schedule folks, now it’s your turn for your longest run of the season!  We’ll have a bunch of you who are tapering too so it’ll be a mix of distances this week.  Go ahead and set those clocks a half hour later than usual, but remember there is no seminar so please be prepared to start at 7:00am SHARP!

Next Meeting (Week 20): Saturday September 21st at 6:30am at Marsh Post

After a few weeks away we’re back to the river, and hitting peak mileage for those of you on the Early Race schedule!  Just about everyone will run long this Saturday, except those lucky few of you who are already tapering.  No seminar so please be prepared to start at 6:30am SHARP!

Next Meeting (Week 19): Saturday September 12th at 6:30am at Battle Road Trail

This week we get a change of scenery as we run on the Battle Road Trail, a beautiful packed-dirt trail in a national historical park (don’t worry, nothing technical)!  We’ll meet at the parking lot for the Minute Man Visitor Center at 6:30am on Saturday, and hear from former BostonFit coach Erica Moffatt on the mental side of distance running before heading off for our miles (10 for Full Team, 7 for Half Team).  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 18): Saturday September 7th at 6:30am at Lexington Depot

This Saturday we’ll head to the Minuteman bike path for our first supported long run!  We’ll meet at Lexington Depot in the municipal parking lot off Edison Way — bring cash for parking if you are driving ($0.50 per hour).

Halfers will have 10 or 12 miles, and Full Team runners will have either 18 or 21 miles depending on the timing of your goal race.  No seminar so we will start right away at 6:30!  See you there!

Labor Day Weekend – No Official Meeting

No official meeting this weekend due to the holiday, but if you are staying local and would like to get together with other BostonFitters for your long run, check the Facebook group and/or email your coaches to find out if anyone is planning an informal run!

Wherever you will be this weekend, be sure to get your miles in — see the Weekly Schedule page of the website for the distance your team should be running.  Have a great holiday weekend, and we’ll see you on September 7th!

Next Meeting (Week 16): Saturday August 24th at 6:30am at Marsh Post

After a couple weeks away from the Post we’ll return there this Saturday as we go back up in mileage again!  Halfers will hit double digits for the second time, and Full Team runners will have either 16 or 18 miles depending on the timing of your goal race.  No seminar so we will start right away at 6:30!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 15): Saturday August 17th at 6:30am at Cleveland Circle

Another change of scenery this week as we will meet in Cleveland Circle.  Before the run, your coaches will talk about best practices for helping your muscles recover from long runs, which should be of interest to all of you considering we are getting into the highest mileage weeks of the season!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 14): Saturday August 10th at 6:30am at Thorndike Field

This weekend we’ll trade the Charles river breezes for the shade of the Minuteman bike path!  It’s another longer one for both Full and Half teams, so be sure to have your mid-run fueling supplies ready.  No seminar, so the run will start at 6:30 sharp!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 13): Saturday August 3rd at 6:30am at Marsh Post

Another Saturday back at the Marsh Post this weekend, and this time before the run we’ll hear some tips from Dr. Abbie Zubiel on how to deal with injury concerns that many of us (unfortunately) have or will encounter during the training season.  Important stuff!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 12): Saturday July 27th at 6:30am at Marsh Post

We’re back at the Post this week — and back to more reasonable running temperatures!  The miles are increasing this week for both Half and Full teams, so be sure to have your mid-run fueling plan prepared ahead of time and pick up any necessary supplies during the week.  No seminar this Saturday, so the run will start at 6:30 sharp!

Next Meeting (Week 11): Saturday July 20th at 6:30am at Franklin Park

It’s going to be a hot one this Saturday, but luckily we are starting EARLY and headed to Franklin Park/Jamaica Plain for a run around the Emerald Necklace where we should be able to catch a good amount of shade along the way.  Let’s beat the heat together — see you there!

Next Meeting (Week 10): Saturday July 13th at 6:30am at Marsh Post

We’re back at the Post this week with our NEW earlier start time of 6:30am!  Yes it’s early, but with the hot weather upon us you’ll feel a lot better running in the cooler early morning temps.  No seminar this week so be sure to be ready to run at 6:30!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 7): Saturday June 22nd at 7:00am at Marsh Post

We’re back at the Marsh Post this week for some miles along the Charles!  We also have a great speaker, Dr. Justine Paula from Wellness In Motion, who is going to talk to us about how to prevent injuries from de-railing your training season.  See you bright and early on Saturday!

Next Meeting (Week 6): Saturday June 15th at 7:00am at Train Boston

This week we’re meeting at another new location, Train Boston at 34 Washington Street in Wellesley, where we’ll hear from one of their personal trainers on how strength training can help us run stronger and with fewer injuries!  This week also brings a new, earlier meeting time so that we can try to beat the heat (summer is nearly here!).  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 5): Saturday June 8th at 8:00am at Jackrabbit

This week we’re meeting at a NEW location, Jackrabbit (running store) at 1728 Mass Ave in Lexington!  Since they have been kind enough to open early for us, we’ll meet just a little later than usual at 8:00am.  Bring your running gear shopping list too, since we’ll be getting a store discount to shop after the run!  See you there!

Next Meeting (Week 4): Saturday June 1st at 7:30am at Marsh Post

We are back at the Marsh Post this Saturday, June 1st, at 7:30am!  This week we will hear from an expert on personal safety and self-defense before our run.  An important — and interactive — seminar that you don’t want to miss!
